Energy Operations Manager - Gothenburg NE

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for leading the day-to-day energy team, including refined fuels, propane, and lubricants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage daily activities for bulk fuel and propane drivers.

  • Responsible for supervising energy drivers, technicians and service station managers.

  • Responsible for all bulk plants, retail facilities and equipment.

  • Work collectively with location employees to assure safe and profitable growth in all product areas at locations.
  • Communicate with customers on products and services, and deliveries.
  • Coordinate and communicate with sales personnel to complete customer deliveries and department operations efficiently, and on time.

  • Promotes and sells petroleum products to new and existing customers.
  • Collaborations with other departments within the cooperative: agronomy, grain, feed
  • Provides excellent customer service by managing difficulty or emotional situations; respond promptly to employee and customer needs. Resolve questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meet commitments.
  • Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.
  • Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. (OSHA, DOT, environmental, etc.)
  • Support operations for various locations and departments within the company.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Preferred Requirements; bachelor’s degree and experience in energy operations or related business.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees or organizations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

Ability to use the following Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Must be able to learn and use the cooperatives software. Can also use the latest technology communications services email, texting, and smartphone operation.

Valid driver’s license with company approved driving record.
